24: Introduce yourself to everyone who doesn’t already know who you are?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: Pilot Reg And Kid App, from the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into it and what inspired you both?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: We didn’t really get into music, music really got into us. We was born into a musical family, so we were destined to be in music.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: It was hostile, everybody had to prove themselves. People weren’t just gonna let you call yourself a rapper, so like freestyle session and rap battles took place on the regular. Which separated the talented from the tryers.

24: What makes you unique as artists and different from other rappers now?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: We feel like artists out now with the exception of a few of them music revolves around the same subject. This is reality so no two days the same. Everyday is diverse, so we put diversity in our music.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Pilot Reg & Kid App: ) Well we just recently finished our second project “Second Flight” available on http://www.datpiff.com/ and immediately started working on our third project “Life On A Cloud” which is now also available on http://www.datpiff.com/

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: Most of our music is self produced, so we haven’t really worked with any producers outside of our camp. In the future we would like to work with producers such as T-Minus, Drumma Boy, J. Cole and Cardo.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: We’re happy with it, but at the same time we realize that we will need to touch a wider audience to get a more accuarate feedback, so we take every good opinion as well as every bad opinion lightly.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: One word, “Consistency!” We just feel like why should an artist be supported if they dont even put the work in to support themselves.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: We would say it’s getting better. The problem is for every good record that’s getting airplay and recognition there is about 10 that shouldn’t even get the time of day.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you working on?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: There is nothing outside of music, around here music is life!

24: Where do you see yourself in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourselves from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Pilot Reg & Kid App: ) In the future, we see us going to the top. There is no written out plan on how we are going to separate ourselves from other artists. We’re going to remain doing the same music we been doing, because we feel that the music we’re doing is going to give us the recognition we deserve.
