24hourhiphop.com got a chance to sit down with Long Island’s own Profit Dollars. He speaks to us about his upcoming projects, what he has in store for the rest of the year and the coming year. He also gives us an insight on his life and thoughts on hip hop. Check it out below and let us know what you think!

24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Profit Dollars: Greetings world my name is Profit Dollars the best investment out of Long Island

24HHH: How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.

Profit Dollars: Profit Dollars is money manifested in a human being. I am a direct representation of my name in real life. I’m always looking for the profit in all aspect of life. Everything profit is the movement, Profit Life is the umbrella.

24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Profit Dollars: I’m from Long Island NY Nassau County, West Hempstead to be exact. I was raised 120 seconds away from the hood as some would call it. I wanna say its like any other suburb town but it isn’t, being so close to such an impoverished neighborhood alot of things spill over like drugs and gangs so things can seem to be one way to a visitor but its alot different for those living there. Still I am very appreciative of my upbringing.

24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

Profit Dollars: Well I wad raised by my mother and step father , I have a little brother that I see on the regular and a older brother I don’t speak to for reasons not worth mentioning. My childhood for the most part was ideal my household didn’t get real crazy until my teenage years but that’s just regular life changes I believe. I found music at the age of 11 and it was really the first thing I was naturally good at. Over the years of finding myself as a person music has always been right there either I’m creating it or it was helping me to make it to the next day, so to sum it up my passion for life itself is in the music I make … If that answers the question (scratch’s head)

24HHH: What age did you start making music?

Profit Dollars: At 11

24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?

Profit Dollars: I believe what inspired me to make music was the reaction. The true art of reaction from the people. The ooo’s and ahh’s. The silence of captivation that is what inspires me daily to make music.

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?

Profit Dollars: I’ve worked with alot of local artist from my area C.Kid Jacob,Mr LI Fresh, Kamerasha, Pozy, Rico Law, The Briefkase Boyz, to name a few. 85% of my production comes from a producer named Classic Tone the other 15% is from a select few of producers that make the cut for the mix tape being made at the time.

24HHH: What else you got coming out? New Album? or Mixtape/EP?

Profit Dollars: Well first I have the “Profit Life” mix tape dropping at the end of the summer featuring some of the hottest music from some of the hottest artist in my local area, then I have “MGMS” ” Money Guided My Steps” which is my next solo project dropping at the end of the year.

24HHH: Tell us about your newest single ” ” Imma say this” how did you come up with that, share us the story?

Profit Dollars: The story behind ” Imma say this” is pretty self explanatory it’s simply a statement of who I am as an artist and person. And since I’m gonna say it then I just want them to listen to me.

24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on?

Profit Dollars: No travel plans just yet, but that’s soon to change. You can see me live though July 5th I’m headlining a show at Revolution in Amityville Long Island NY, I’m also opening for Mack Wilds and K.Michelle July 18th at Amazura so be in the building.

24HHH: What is the biggest thing to happen in your career?

Profit Dollars: The biggest thing to happen in my career hasn’t happened yet I have a list of accolades from being a featured artist on Xtreme104, DTF radio, Thisis50 radio twice, I’ve been featured on Jackthriller.com , 16orbetter.com , Djnamebran.com , shaystar.com , Brooklynkobra.com , CNN and now 24hourhiphop.com … That boy profit be mobbin.

24HHH: Where can people find you?

Profit Dollars: @profitdollars on all social media IG,FB,Twitter

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Profit Dollars: I see myself on a constant increase I don’t see myself plateauing anytime soon. My recognition I feel will come naturally everything that I’m receiving now I deserve so as long as I remain the person that I am today everything I need and want will fall into place. And that answer is what separates me from your typical present day Rap/Hip-Hop artist.
