24: Introduce yourself to everyone and let them know where your representing?
RacQ Dolo: Hey, everyone I go by the name RacQ Dolo and I’m a singer, songwriter, performer of Pop-Rock and R&B Music representing for New Jersey.
24: What do you feel your bringing to the music world and what separates you from other up and coming artist?
RacQ Dolo: I am bringing “Heat” to the music world and starting a “New Lane”. My team and I coined the lane “Drama Pop”. You know how excited and anxious you get when you’re about to watch a movie? That’s how my songs are, there 4 minute audio pop movies so to speak. I’m bringing a new energy that so many people can relate to and the diversity of my life separates me from other artists.
24: Who were some of your musical influences growing up?
RacQ Dolo: Growing up in a musically inclined household, I listened to a plethora of artists from Mint Condition to Yolanda Adams, Earth Wind & Fire, Janet, Aaliyah, Prince, Whitney, Michael and Biggie. Even though so many I could name. They’ve all been a part of my growth musically from being exposed to so many different genres of music. You can hear some of these influences in my records to date.
24: What are some of the projects your currently working on?
RacQ Dolo: I just dropped my EP called “The Dolo Sessions“. It’s what I’ve been working on for the past month, now I’m taking a slight break from the booth and hitting the stage and do what I do best(Perform). But I will soon be back in the booth recording for my next EP that I’m going to be dropping in May, that will contain all “Producer Submissions”. I received so many dope beats for my last EP from a variety of producers, that I decided to drop a “Dolo Submissions EP” to show my appreciation for the guys “Behind the Music” so to speak. I will also have some cool features from artists that’s from New Jersey that have had the chance to work with such as Frontline Tdot and Big Rod. As well as other artists from different areas like Miami, Philly, Cali, and New York just to name a few. It’s going to be crazy so stay tuned!
24: Who are some of the producers you have been working with and who would you love to work with in the near future that you think would help bring you to a whole different level?
RacQ Dolo: Well, I work with my production team, “Trak Fire Productions”, Thee coldest Producers in Jersey, hands down(lol). Those guys are like my big brothers and we’ve worked so hard to achieve my sound, which I am so proud of. Some other producers I’ve worked with are Young Yonny(“Mr. Say Aah” himself), he produced a joint on the EP called “Rimmelao“. Not to mention MQuest who is an awesome producer based out of DC he is also on the EP, and another one of Jersey’s dope producers ‘Cardiak’ who has produced joints from Ace Hood‘s “Bout Me” to artist like Freeway, etc. But on the terms of other producers, I would love to work with Timberland, Bangladesh, Tricky Stewart, Stargate, Brian Kennedy, DarkChild and Rich Harrison. My list can go on and on(lol).
24: What would you say your looking for out of a label for you to sign on that dotted line?
RacQ Dolo: Give me a nice “Budget” and most importantly a “Release Date”. I choose not to sit at a label for years and not be heard. Once you give me that release date, it’s on. RacQ Dolo will take over the world. Not that I’m not taking over already, but you know(smiling).
24: What should the readers look out for/from you in 2010?
RacQ Dolo: Well, My Dolomytes as I call them(The Dolo Supporters)should just look out for me everywhere and anywhere they can in 2010 and beyond! I’m grinding and going hard in everything that I do. So it’s going to be hard to not hear about me.
