24hourhiphop.com sits down with recording artist Rip from Hinesville, GA. Rip talks to us about his new music, producers he’s worked with, and what he also has planned for the coming year. We also get to hear about some of his musical influences and family life as well. Check out the interview below and see what Rip had to say!

24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Rip: My name is Rip. I come from a small town name Hinesville GA. I’m 23 years old.

24HHH: How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.

Rip: Its funny. Actually I got this name from Rip Hamiltion. This was probably around middle school. Everybody kept saying I look like him which I don’t agree with but I stuck with it.

24HHH:Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Rip: Im from Hinesville Ga. Its close to Savannah. We pretty much had to go to Savannah for everything. We don’t even have a mall lol. Its a little town.

24HHH:Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

Rip: Both my parents were in my life. My sister Janice is like a second mother to me though. I use to visit her almost every summer afterschool in Fayetteville, NC. I have 2 sisters and a brother. Im the youngest. Growing up I played a lot of sports. That was my first dream. Hinesville is one of those places where trouble just follow you. But I made it and  im still here and ready to get my career going.

24HHH: What age did you start making music?

Rip: I use to freestyle battle a lot when I was in middle school.  I was 12. I didn’t record a song until 10th grade though.

24HHH:What inspired you to pursue making music?

Rip: My sister Monica. She is the reason why I started rapping. Hearing her rap, the way she use to put her words made me want to give it a try. Its funny cause we share a lot of the same talents. We both draw too

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?

Rip: I would love to do a song with 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, Luda, Chamillionaire, Treys songz. Producers hmm pharrell, warren g, dj mustard

24HHH:What else you got coming out? New Album? or Mixtape/EP?

Rip: My mixtape meps is out right now. Im working on my EP. Hopefully an album.
Check out Rep – Meps [Mixtape]

24HHH: Tell us about your newest single “Outer Space”, how did you come up with that, share us the story?

Rip: I got 2 songs that will be on iTunes pretty soon. Outer Space and 912. Outer space is one of the first songs I did when I made my first mixtape R.I.D.G.E. Its one of those songs where you feel alone, spaced out, or sticking to yourself. 912 is a song about Hinesville. Also the 912 area. SAV and all the other cities. I recorded this song about a year ago.

24HHH:Any new travel plans, what you got going on?

Rip: Nothing much just trying to get out there as of right now.

24HHH:What is the biggest thing to happen in your career?

Rip: Doing this for you guys lol

24HHH:Where can people find you?

Rip: Google backwardsrrip. My youtube and twitter should come up. Download Meps on datpiff.

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Rip: I see myself and my team making it. Im just going to continue doing me, keeping it 100. I do all kinds of music. Im not just a rapper Im an artist.

24HHH:Any last words or shout outs?

Rip: Shout out to my bro Vares. Quality Key we on the rise!
