24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

ScoopBop: I go by the name of ScoopBop and I am a Hip-Hop artist coming out of Charlottesville, Virginia. I am a solo MC, songwriter, and also a member of the music group SmackBoy. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA where I am further pursing goals and perfecting my craft.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into music and what inspired you?

ScoopBop: Growing up through the 90’s it felt like it was hard to avoid Hip-Hop.  As a kid I traveled often with my mom, in the back seat chillin’, soaking in everything on the stereo. My mother listened to everything from Jay Z to Bone Thugs, but most of all it was Tupac. Through school I developed an interest in poetry, meshing that with my love for Hip-Hop, I wrote my first rap verses at the age of nine. From then on I know hip hop would play a big part in my life.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

ScoopBop: To be honest, there is not much of a Hip-op scene where I’m from. Don’tget me wrong, there are several talented local artist in the area but there is not a big focus on Hip-Hop in my town. Since i traveled so much as a child, I was always in tune with different style of Hip-Hop from all over.

24: What makes you Unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?

ScoopBop: My experiences. My interest. My values. My ability and talent. My Drive. My Music. My Support. My Team.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

ScoopBop: My First solo project ‘Smoke And Maintain’ will release on May 14 via Datpiff.com. I am also working on an EP with producer, The MPC, that I will be releasing shortly after. ScoopBop.com will be launching soon as well.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

ScoopBop: I have had the pleasure of working with Takuji Kura, an awesome and very renowned producer from Japan. Also, I have recieved production from Canadian producer, J Staffz and I am currently working with one of the dopest producers from Savannah GA, The MPC. Of course there are several incredible producers i would love to work with but i am more excited to see how my team progresses in the near future.

ScoopBop: I just stay patient and focused on my craft. Im confident in my abilities so for me its just only a matter of time and hustle.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

ScoopBop: I like that lyrics seems to slowly be making it’s way back onto the Hip-Hop scene, I will say that. I’m a fan of substance and genuine style so it’s dope to see some newcomers bringing that back. I feel like we are in the midst of a new era and I’m ready to put my own personal stamp on the game.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

ScoopBop: Nothing too far outside of music. I currently attend the SAE Institute of Atlanta for audio engineering. I also have taken an interest in video but mainly as a tool to promote my music.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
