24: Introduce yourself to everyone and let them know where you’re from?

Sheena Murray: My name is Sheena Murray and I am a singer as well as a songwriter. I’m currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, FL but I am a Jamaican native.

24: What do you feel you’re bringing to the music world that separates you from other new artist?

Sheena Murray: I feel like my music is organic.  It’s not me trying to be someone else. I don’t create music to blend in with the current market; I create music that is timeless, speaks for itself and is lyrically, melodically, vocally poignant.

24: Name a few artists that you would say influence you musically?

Sheena Murray: I always make sure I name India Arie first because she stays true to herself and the whole “Soul Movement” and her voice is amazing.  But I would have to mention Toni Braxton, Anita Baker, and John Legend as well.

24: Tell about some the projects you’re currently working on?

Sheena Murray: I’m currently working on my first album entitled “TrebledSoul” and I am anticipating a release in early 2010. I also just wrapped up a compilation album with my label, Reservoir Nine which is also being released in the 2010.

24: Are there any producers out that you that you think you would work magic with if you got the chance to have a studio session with them?

Sheena Murray: Not really producers at this time but more so great songwriters. I would love to collaborate with Ne-Yo, BabyFace, India Arie, Keri Hilson, and of course John Legend.

24: At a time when the music industry is at an Up & Down state are you more looking to sign with an Indie Label or are you just focusing on making good music and making your buzz bigger right now?

Sheena Murray:  I’m focusing on creating good music with the Indie label that I’m with, Reservoir Nine. I think that’s the easiest way to stay true to the music. I don’t want to be “Label-Made” or dance around on puppet strings because of the politics behind Major Labels, and I’m saying that with no offense to anyone.

24: What should the readers look out for from you in 2010?

Sheena Murray2010 will be the year of fruition, my album will be available, I’ll be doing live shows, you’ll see on your television or computer screens; this is goal.

24: How can someone find out more about to and check out your music?

Sheena Murray: Definitely go and check out my Myspace page which is www.myspace.com/sheenaomurray and on Youtube at www.youtube.com/trebledsoul.

24: Is there anything you want to say to the readers?

Sheena Murray: I’d like to thank everyone for their support. It’s so important to have people who believe in your vision backing you up and I am humbled. Keep the good music flowing.
