24: Introduce yourself to everyone and let them know where your repping?

Shonie: For those of you that don’t know or haven’t heard any of my music yet, it’s your girl Shonie. I’m the newest member of Slick Salt Entertainment and Slip N Slide Records, and I’m repping the 305 to the fullest.

24: What do you feel your bringing to the music world?

Shonie: Just good music. The industry is lacking good R&B right now. Everybody’s trying to do the same thing. I’m bringing a different style and approach as well as concepts that people really want to hear but that other artists are afraid to say.

24: Who are some of the people that influence you musically?

Shonie: Ah, man! TLC, SWV, Brandy, Toni Braxton, Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole. Lauryn Hill, definitely! Oh, and Beyonce. I have a lot of respect for her.

24: Tell us about some of the projects you’re currently working on?

Shonie: You can find me on Trina’s new album, “Still the Baddest.” I have a single with Trina titled “I Wish I Never Met You.” That’s really hot right now. I also have a single that I’m featured on that’s heavy on radio right now titled “Break Me Off,” with Charlie Hustle. I have done several features with just about all of the Miami artists.

24: Who are some of the producers you have been working with and who would you love to work with in the near future?

Shonie: As far as artists, I’ve worked with Trina, Flo Rida, Trick Daddy, B5, Charlie Hustle, Brisco and Qwote. I’m working on my album now as well. Some producers I’ve worked with are, Jim Jonsin, Cool N Dre, Jack Splash who did Alicia Keys’ “Teenage Love Affair, Robert “Big Bert” Smith, Lamb, who did Jazmine Sullivan’s “I Need U Bad” and Keyshia Cole’s “Let It Go.” I’m also working with Midus and Kane da Kameleon, who did Keyshia Cole and Trina’s record, “I Got A Thing For You.” Its beautiful working with them. They’ve been giving me some hot joints. I’m enjoying working with them. I would love to work with Timbaland, The Neptunes, as well as Jermaine Dupri. Those three producers definitely have a very unique style.

24: What should the readers look out for from you in the near future?

Shonie: Well, I’m working on writing for other artist’s albums. I was working with Day 26 and Danity Kane. I’m writing for a lot of different artists lately. I want to be a major writer in the game.

24: How can someone find out more about you and check out your music?

Shonie: Well, Myspace is the biggest thing right now, so you can check out my page at: http://www/myspace.com/shoniemusic. You can hit me up on there. I do write back!

24: Is there anything you want to say to the readers?

Shonie: Just look out for my upcoming album, as well as other songs that I will be writing and co writing with other artists. I’m coming out in the first quarter of ’09.
