24:
Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Wassup everybody?
I go by the name of Swaggman. For those of y’all who don’t know me,
I am an up-and-coming rapper from Miami by way of Flatbush, Brooklyn NYC.
24:
Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got
into the industry and what inspired you?
At the age of 18, I fell in love with hip-hop.
The streets of NY and artists like Biggie and Jay-Z inspired me to become a
rapper. So I
picked up a pen & pad and started writing and have been working
at it ever since.
24:
As of right now, who in the industry would you say you listen to on a regular
and would probably like to work with in the near future?
I pretty much listen to all genres of music
but on a regular, I listen to Biggie, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, my Boy B-Easy.
I would like the opportunity to work with Kanye West but pretty much any other gifted
artist as myself that’s interested in making good music.
In
the beginning stages of your debut mixtape, what producers have you worked with
or would like to work with on this upcoming project?
I worked with G.Q beats, 88 keys, Prophet, Ricco.
I want to work with Kanye West, Timbaland, Scott Storch and Diddy.
Can
you give us an estimation of a time period on when that album will be available
for to be public? Next year roughly around the second quarter
is what I’m aiming for.
What
was your inspiration for the hit single Paparazzi?
Paparazzi
was not meant to be a single. My manager Gee of Diamond Mind Entertainment (DME) was like we need to
just leak it. It was something I threw out to get a buzz but it got a crazy response so we got Director Chris
Larceny and he helped us blessed the streets and the internet with a gem of a
video. I have plenty more records to put out soon
What
makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers?
I have a unique style. I
don’t curse in my rhymes and I don’t just cover one genre of music.
I come with my own style. I am trying to corner every market. I make music
for all genres.
I’m not afraid to go Pop or Country for that matter. I wanna cover all markets
when it comes to music.
What
are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my Swagg DVD and
coming soon my LP which
is untitled at the moment
Are
you happy with the feedback you’ve been getting from the songs you’ve released
so far?
I am very happy with the feedback,
positive and negative. All feedback is positive and I appreciate the listener
for even taking the time to listen.
You
have a buzz slowly building now with Paparazzi.
How are you going to keep it going?
I am going to keep the buzz going by keeping consistent, making good music and
killin’ them with a memorable flow as well as concepts.
