Swissboi tells us about his life growing up in Zurich, Germany for part of his life. Now that he resides in Atlanta we learn what the music scene is like in his area. Swissboi also talks to us about his current projects, music videos, and more. Check out what Swissboi had to tell us and let us know what you think!
24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?
SwissBoi: My name is SwissBoi; I am a half Swiss, half African American singer and songwriter, but most importantly, I'm a dreamer. Some say my music could be categorized as a mixture of Soul and R&B; however, I try to stay away from labels… I just see myself as the messenger; I want my listeners to take my music and run with it.. Do with it whatever they want.. Sleep to it, wake up to it, chill to it, party to it.. My goal is to captivate them with each song. I just want my music to make people happy.
24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?
SwissBoi: Half of my family is from Memphis Tennessee where I was born. The other half is from Zurich, Switzerland where I have spent a substantial part of my life. I try to allow myself to go where the wind blows me. I am currently in Atlanta and I'm loving it here, but I could be in Brazil or Australia next year, who knows.
24HHH: What age did you start making music?
SwissBoi: With my mother being a vocal coach, I have been singing all my life. I wrote my first song when I was 9 years old. I was full of energy and my infatuation with a childhood crush at the time inspired a song that I recorded on a cassette player for her. I really hope that tape doesn’t exist anymore. I would be more comfortable if someone dropped a sex tape of me.
24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?
SwissBoi: I was fortunate to come from a musical family. My parents met while attending Berklee College of Music. My mom always said she sang to me while I was still in her belly, and apparently, that never stopped because I grew up listening to the melody of her beautiful voice singing endlessly. My dad is also a singer, but he is more into the logistics of music. His creativity inspires me. I grew up listening to his beats and watching him produce music in the studio. My parents both knew I wanted to pursue music, but they made me promise that I would first get my college degree. I went to Georgia State University of which Ludacris and Usher are alumni. I successfully earned my degree and am finally ready to release these creative forces that have been stored up inside of me.
24HHH: Tell us about your newest single "DreamGirl", how did you come up with that, share us the story?
SwissBoi: I was traveling through Europe and reminiscing about honeymoon stages of my past relationships. I love the feeling of butterflies floating in your stomach when you’re falling for someone. We start to question if that feeling is real, or in that case, if anything’s real. When reminiscing about that feeling, “DreamGirl” was made, and we shot the video in Switzerland.

24HHH: What else have you been doing?
SwissBoi: I’m also a humanitarian that wants to bring recognition to world issues. I work with charitable organizations that help women and children in third world countries. I got the opportunity to work on education and health related projects. The experience was very rewarding.
24HHH: What other music do you have out?
SwissBoi: I wanted to pay tribute to my African roots, so I wrote a song that captured that feeling. The song is called "Lost History, " and it was recorded in Africa with German rapper Lex daVinci. I have been approached by US Rappers that want to remix it with an American flow because they have a strong connection to the song’s topic, so I’m open to that.

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with?
SwissBoi: Since I am international, I work with artists from US and Europe: Kid Envy(MN), Meat da Man(GA), ZH (Swiss), M Keyz(WI), Eko Fresh (Germany), Lex daVinci, C-Note J, RudeBoi (Bahamas) etc. and producers like Gypsy Stokes (Konvict Musik), Isaac Dozier, Yurak (Ecuador), Gsezhlos, LexOnTheTrack, Andre Favre (France) and ElonGotBeatz. I like to work with artists that share my passion to support a bigger cause like myself.
24HHH: What else do you have coming out?
SwissBoi: I don’t know if I'm supposed to keep this confidential, BUT for 24hourhiphop and other inquiring minds, my next single, "Ur a Star," will be released in February. We will begin shooting the video in Atlanta around the same time, but that release will be delayed until a few months after.
24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on?
SwissBoi: Right now, I want to breathe in some fresh air in South America, and get in tune with Latin cultures. In March, I fly to Ecuador and travel surrounding countries like Colombia. I plan to capture the beauty of these cultures and be inspired by Latin music artists. Perhaps, we will see a couple Spanish influenced singles released.

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the
other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
SwissBoi: My mission is to sing with the passion of Bob Marley and with the soul and style similar of Musiq Soulchild. My US and European roots gives me a unique understanding of these cultures, and I want to fuse them together along with other cultures. Even though we have differences, there is a lot more that connects us.I haven’t had material out long enough yet to gain recognition but I feel as though I am just getting my footing after finishing college. I was pleased that 24hourhiphop asked me to interview. Follow me on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram @iamSwissBoi, and pursue this journey, it will be a fun ride.
24HHH: Any last words or shout outs?

I encourage everyone to donate to edm.ch, they do an unbelievable job making a difference in the world! Thanks to everybody that helped me and supported me on my journey thus far.
