24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

T. Walker: The names T. Walker, I’m a Hip-Hop artist coming from Long Island. I like where I’m from. The weather can’t make up its mind over here, but the pizza is RIDICULOUSSSS. Still a college kid at Nassau Community College.. have yet to get my parking permit, and the parking sucks. Great school though. I do most of my shows out in NYC, but performing on Long Island is a great change once in a while. I prefer to be nicknamed “T”, because it sounds cool. I’m an only child, which is kickass, and I’m a sarcastic person. Don’t judge, get to know me.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

T. Walker: What really got me into making music was not having a “filter” to vent out my thoughts on situations that took place in the past. I felt very alone, and lost at a certain point in my life. I began to write poetry and kept it a secret for a long time. One day a good friend of mine found a binder filled with written poems, rhymes, and a crapload of pens. He gave me the idea to start up rapping and putting these words to rhythm. Shortening up the story, I’m a rapper now.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

T. Walker: To be honest, there’s a very, very small group of other local rappers who I strongly paid/pay attention to growing up.

24: What makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?

T. Walker: I really focus on getting a story out of every song. If you listen to my recent mixtapes “Hungry, Humble, Motivated” and “HHM2: The Sequel”, most of the songs in the first verse begin with a summary of what I was feeling. The second and third verses are detailed. It’s complex and seems to unreal, but really listen to the lyrics.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

T. Walker: What am I not working on? I’m busy as hell

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

T. Walker: I’ve had the privilege to work with Vinny Idol from D-Block, a dude real down to earth and talented as hell. There’s so many different rappers/producers/singers I can name that I’d want to work with.. but I’d like to work with an artist who actually understands my sound.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

T. Walker: Absolutely, everybody’s supportive, I don’t feed into negative energy much. There’s only so much negativity a dude can handle before losing his mind. I’m so appreciative of the support and help I have gotten from everyone involved and listening. Loyalty means everything to me

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

T. Walker: I’m going to be myself, and if nobody likes it they can shove it.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

T. Walker: It’s cool. “Cool” is the right word I feel.. it’s cool. I like Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, J.Cole, their talented. Thumbs up to Kanye West for snagging’ Kim and bringing a baby into the world, that’s cool. Drake and Chris Brown throwing bottles at each other in clubs, that’s pretty cool too. I like the scene today.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

T. Walker: There is nothing outside of the music besides more music. It’s my life.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

T. Walker: Who knows, I just take life day by day and grind it out. I’m going to keep making music, videos, and keeping everyone updated about whats going on. The ones who choose to follow will care, and recognition comes with the ones who care.

24: How can fans go about contacting you?

T. Walker: I love twitter, I answer literally everybody who hits me up on there and I mostly follow back. Add it–> @T3Walker
