24: How did you and T-Pain link up which lead to you signing to Nappy Boy?
Tay Dizm: My cousin actually told me to come up to Tallahassee and meet with this dude name T-Pain. I came up met him in the club we spoke and at the time he we apart of the roup called Nappy Heads. The next day we both ended up at the club dancing and battling and at the time I didn’t really know who it was, we was just battling each other. That day we really kicked it because I know I was from the hood and just like to have fun and he was the same way. We both don’t really care what people think we do what we do.
24: What part of Florida are you from?
Tay Dizm: I’m from Homestead man, way up there bra.
24: Your new single “Beam Me Up” featuring T-Pain and Rick Ross can be heard in every club from state to state so I’m sure the fans want to know when will the video be dropping?
Tay Dizm: Right now we are still working on the treatment for the video but its definitely coming real soon.
24: Take me behind the scenes and tell me how did the song come about?
Tay Dizm: I was in the studio going through my beats in Pro Tools and I saw this song called “Beam Me Up”, I listened to it and I was like damn! I went to Pain because he had did the hook and asked him if anyone was messing with this and he was like no, so I told him I was about to jump on it. I jump on it did my thing and Pain was like I need to put Rick Ross on this. H reached out to Ross and the boy did his thing.
24: Every song I hear you on whether its your single, T-Pain’s album, 2 Pistols “She Got It” or Dolla “Who The Heck Is That” you come with a different swagger and direction then most new artist I hear so describe your style?
Tay Dizm: I look at it like this man, I just go and record and thats what come out. Can’t even describe my style to you really, I just go in and do Tay Dizm.
24: Who are some of the producers you worked with and some of the collaborations?
Tay Dizm: The new albums called “Welcome To The New World”, I worked with T-Pain and the whole Nappy Boy family. I got Da Brat on the album Gorilla Zoe, Trick Daddy, Bow Wow, Ross of course and working on Lil Wayne right now as we speak.
24: If you had to choose a favorite song from the album that meant the most to you which would it be?
Tay Dizm: It would have to be this song called “Broke”.
24: Why did you choose that song?
Tay Dizm: First of all I come from nothing as a foster child, my daddy left me my momma left me really at like the age of 5 so I really come from nothing to something. I had to really raise myself living in house holds that barely had anything and wearing hand me down clothing. I feel like I’m not the only one out there that went through shit like this and a lot of people will relate to this song and its subject matter. I went 3 months with no lights and bathing with cold water mixing up corn meal frying it and eating that so that’ why that song means so much to me man!
24: I know you have been Tour with T-Pain before but how does it feel being on tour with your single out and your album set to drop not to mention the reaction your getting from the fans?
Tay Dizm: It feels real good man, it’ kind of like “A Dream Come True”, because I know a lot of people out there wish that they could be doing this. and then get to a point where they can put on their home boys. It was a lot of hard work that I had to put in for this and it’ now paying off.
24: What advice would you give to other up and coming artist trying to get into the music industry?
Tay Dizm: I’m going to be straight up and tell you like this if you got a dream and you truly believe in your dream then get yourself a plan and stick to your plan. Trust me man because dreams do come true, look at me. I stuck to my plan and things turned out right regardless of what people told me.
24: What’s next in line for Tay Dizm and the whole Nappy Boy camp?
Tay Dizm: The new album coming out soon, Jay Lyric, So Fresh and of course T-Pain album coming later this summer so its a Nappy Boy year man. We on tour right now so make sure you check for your city listings too.
24: Anything you want to say or promote before we go?
Tay Dizm: I just want to let everyone know to support the new single, get it on itunes and call up the radio stations in your town and tell them you need that.
