24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Vee: I’m Vee, based outta Grand Rapids, MI. Home of Floyd Mayweather, residing in (HOT AS HELL) Phoenix, AZ.
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Vee: I was born into this. I mean, at the young age of 6-8, me and my cousins would be in the basement politicing over who’s hot in the game. Grand rapids inspired me. My family inspired me. And the music inspired me. We always wanted to be something great. We knew where we were, wasn’t where we was gonna be.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Vee: Back in Gun Ru, there was really none at the time, if there was, we didn’t know about it. In Phoenix, there’s a scene, but for some reason we couldn’t break out. It’s hard, I personally think that in either city, it will be history for any one to blow up on rap, so with that being said, it’s gone take a movement, we need to come together…. which isn’t happening. But we out here working everyday.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Vee: I just think I’m Hip-Hop. And I’m a chameleon. I can do anything and everything, which is a gift and a curse. I’m just big on being myself, and stayin real. My vision i think is different, but y’all will have to wait and see what those visions are…. I will say, I have only begun to scratch the surface.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Vee: Currently, just mix tapes after mix tapes, jumping on opportunity after opportunity. Meanwhile looking for that “Right” deal, working with my team on videos, shows, features… ya know. Just as much as we can do, stayin busy. WORK WORK WORK.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Vee: As far as major producers, none yet. But in my two cities, Sango, Speakerbomb, Vocaine, Davercity, J-U-Nyce, Lexi Banks, Big Fraze, Two Band Geeks, P.A. Molumby, etc… And I mean I would like to work with all the greats. Dre, 40, Timberland, Hit Boy, Jus Blaze. I just wanna make magic… Timeless works of art like artist used to make.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Vee: Oh yeah, literally almost zero negative. People give so many praises. The feedback is always “Why the fuck ain’t you signed?!” or “Why you not huge yet?” lol. Which let’s me know in the right hands, with the right tools, at the right time, I can make history. Until the right opportunity comes I’ll just keep working.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
Vee: That’s a hard question. If I knew I would be there already, but I think in a music world, especially with Hip-Hop, that has sooo much clutter, you just gotta overflow it with material. Stay grindin, stay in every DJ Laptop, and just work harder then the next man along with making the right connections, it can happen… And for me, it will.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Vee: Like I said just too much clutter. Talent don’t even fuckin matter no more. It’s just about popularity now. I would like to see it be about the music again. But who we kiddin, that probably ain’t happenin, so me bein a chameleon, its not a problem, I can adapt to it. Who knows, maybe I can help make that happen along with some other artists who are doing that in the game now.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Vee: Nothing. Music is everything. It’s my whole life ya kno? Besides other business ventures that will in turn help with the music… just music.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Vee: Well 2012 is almost over, so hopefully something big goes down in these next few months. I just wanna continue to work hard and do ME. Cuz i feel like these other niggaz try soooo hard to be whats hot out now, or like the nigga who’s big now, I feel me just doin me, will be separation enough.
