24: I first heard you on a song with  Young Joc so tell me and the readers how did that record come about?

Young Breed: Yeah, it was called “I’m a G”. It was basically just a mixtape track there, and what the whole X-Tortion game about that’s the movement DJ Cox my manager, Trunk Funk. They sent Cox a lot of new shit you know, and I just blessed them with my sixteen and we just put it out there in the streets and put it out there, you know it aint nothing but the X-Tortion game we just get on people shit and make it hotter.

24: So tell us a little bit about your history out here in Miami and stuff, I know you are also apart of the group co-defendants.

Young Breed:  Basically yeah the whole group was put together by the Vedo no Shake one half of the Piccalo and I am the youngest member of Co-Defendants and we are still pushing the Co-Defendants projects is just that everybody has just ventured off to work on there solo projects just to make that whole Co-Defendants movement stronger. But as far as me down here in the M.I.A, I have just been collaborating with a lot of different artist you know Redd Eyes out of Lil Haiti, Brisco, Gun Play, Triple C’s, just the whole M.I.A movement we just being apart of it and you know it’s just been opening doors. And you already know about the Piccalo and Co-Defendants and you know we also do the East Coast Ryders. It’s all a big movement we just been out there networking getting things out there letting them know M.I Yayo is still in effect.

24: Oh ok so are you or Co-Defendants signed to any one or is it just a independent thing?

Young Breed: Everything is independent, everything is independent right now X-Tortion Game Entertainment, we got Trunk Funk Records, 4 Life Entertainment which the Co-Defendants are under but you know as solo artist we independent out here just trying to search and market.

24: So are you all trying to get a major deal or are you all just looking for distribution?

Young Breed: A major deal, we trying to get a major deal, get a label deal you know we distributing our own shit right now keeping it independent as much as possible.

24: Is X-Tortion you first mixtape or what?

Young Breed: Yeah that’s the first solo mixtape from Young Breed the X-Tortion Game. We got volumes dropping every month. We got so much shit we are about to put out there, we are about to flood the streets in a second. You know Trunk Funk Cox put out mix cd’s every month so you going to here new music and your going to here Young Breed on there every time. It’s just a movement.

24: I noticed too from your Myspace page you are one of the few artist out here where I am actually feeling all your tracks. How long you been rapping and how long did it take to get to the level where you are now?

Young Breed: Well I’ve been free styling since I was like 9 but I have actually been recording since I was like 12. So it’s been like a 8 yr process and perfecting my craft getting people’s opinion and  knowing what people want to hear, you know it just been good also being able to have been around Piccalo and other artist like that who have been out there, and they coach me and me through. I’m just perfecting my craft but you know the streets have been embracing right now so we love it.

24: With saying how you have been working along side some of the veterans here in Miami such as Piccalo who have been doing there thing  for a long time like, shit ,ever since I was in middle school they been doing there thing and I feel they have not reach the success level yet in which most may feel they deserve, yet they are still grinding it out. So how does it feel to work with such a group?

Young Breed: It’s just a blessing to be able to work with some pioneers in the game out of Miami cause like you said that’s what all of us grew up on you know? And it’s just the same way with Rick Ross and the same way with Brisco, its just  you grow up under them and you actually get the chance to sit down in the lab and it’s just a blessing cause it feels like you work is paying off and you get to work round the veterans who can show you some things you never seen before and likewise you might show them things they never seen. It’s just a chemistry and a blessing and its always good to work around people that are in a better position then you.

24: How you feel about the South and more over the city being able to get its shine on now with Rick Ross, Flo Rida and Brisco Sean Kingston and everyone bring light to the hood? And do you feel it will last?

Young Breed: Me personally Well I just love it, cause we are finally getting the shine we deserve along with the south but its like M.I Yayo  is really getting our chance to shine and I think it wouldn’t be a problem with us having longevity as long as we stick together and continue to make it happen by having less hating and more collaborations just working together to make it a beautiful thing we just got to learn that you get back what you put in. Like me I collaborate with a lot of young up and coming artist out here who you may have never even heard of  cause I was in there same position so I’m always open for callbo’s I don’t get Hollywood I’m always holly hood we gon always do it right so if you got the courage to come holla at me. i will step to you and as long as you got the studio time set up I’m good.

24: That’s what’s up and that’s what I like to hear from the home team. Anything else you promoting?

Young Breed: Right now I’m promoting my singles “Make some Room” ft. Des Loc of Piccalo and my other single “Real Niggaz” ft. Brisco and Ice Berg of Dunk Ryders and all these songs will be features on the next X-Tortion volume coming to a hood near you real soon. Also right now we are doing this East Coast Ryder 10 city tour which has already been kicked off we just got back from South Carolina this past Friday so just know you all will be seeing us world wide.

24: Lastly I see you have a lot of production work from Gorilla Tek, Diaz Brothers, CP Hollywood,  Rock N Freeze etc. what advice do you have for up and coming artist we cant always afford the costly beats?

Young Breed: Use the formula I use. Only way producers are going to work with you is if they believe in you so  just give the producers your music and let em know you hungry for it some producers 5 to 10,000 a track but if they believe in you they might make you some tracks for free so just go out there and network and find that producer you have a chemistry with and it will be a beautiful thing just keep grinding and don’t stop.

24: Well you know 24hourhiphop.com always has love for the home team keep doing your thing and keep working hard cause the music your dropping is on point.

Young Breed: Thanks for the love, I appreciate it, yall  keep grinding and keeping it hood. Young Breed, X-Tortion Game Vol. 1 and 2, Co-Defendants, Trunk Funk, it’s all a movement so lay round for it. www.myspace.com/305breed.
