Tearing his way into the game is a Boston MC by the name of Young Riot. Hailing from a city more known for it’s tall white basketball players than it’s hip hop superstars, Riot hopes to change all that. Mixtapes, magazine write-ups, and feature website interviews, this young man has done it all in just two short years. Pay attention as Riot lets us know why he’s gonna be making a lot of noise in this game and what to look out for from him.

24H: Introduce yourself to the people.

Young Riot:
Young Riot a.k.a Mr. I’m So Yes himself

24H:
Aite and what city are your reppin?

Young Riot:
I’m from the champion city right now…Boston, MA stand up!!!

24H:
How long have you been making music?

Young Riot:
I been at it for like 2 and a half years now, goin hard and you know the sayin people use “hard work pays off”? It’s true because I feel I accomplished a lot in such a short time…..but far from done.

24H:
How did you get your start?

Young Riot:
After I was already in a group and shit, doin shows and puttin in studio hours. I felt like I wanted to take my career higher and get my family out the hood so I went and started doin me on the network tip. I had linked up with “O” Vakseen from Slip N Slide and he produced  a track for me which is now my hit called “I’m So Yes”. I was on the SNS website for a while and since then I started the YES trend and been moving since. Hopefully I get in where I fit in soon feel me?

24H:
How did you come up with your name?

Young Riot:
I didn’t come up with my name it was giving to me when I use to run around in the hood coming up.

24H:
Now Young Riot, how old are you?

Young Riot:
I’m 20 years young,  soon to be 21 this summer.

24H:
What inspires you to make your music?

Young Riot:
I have a true love for the game and I respect the artist in it. I have always felt like I belong in the industry and I know these cats, they just like me. People like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Young Jeezy also help because they show me it can be done and look at the celebrity status their on including the business aspect of it.

24H:
Okay you mentioned a couple above, who are your favorite artists?

Young Riot:
Myself, Lil Weezy, Jay-Z and another dude I rock hard withand matter of fact ya’ll just gave him a interview, Curtains. Shout out to Curtains he got bars!!!

24H:
How has being from Boston influenced your music?

Young Riot:
My city is wildin as of right now with the violence, but at the same time it is a big place for media and fashion. We also have a very wide variety of ethnicity, so it helps me be versatile.

24H:
Describe your sound and style for those who haven’t heard your music.

Young Riot:
My sound is very crisp and fresh, and my style is the same…..YES!

24H:
What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in the game?

Young Riot: I have a few like working with Sickamore being featured in the Hip Hop Weekly magazine, being in The Source, putting out my first mixtape which is out now titled 2Fly 2Smart hosted by Dj Illmatic aka George Push. It’s on datpiff.com. But the biggest one I can say is getting a digital distribution deal through Amalgam Digital…. still a free agent though.

24H:
And on the flipside what would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

Young Riot:
The biggest challenge I have now is basically getting out the hood.

24H:
Now I know you’ve done some touring. What’s your stage show like?

Young Riot:
I always get the crowd to rock with me because the energy and swag I bring. Usually I go on knowing how I’m going to perform and I interact with them as I’m performing, doing little dances or whatever just to give them
a good show. The people can see it for their own eyes on my Myspace page.

24H:  What should we be looking for from you, singles, mixtapes?

Young Riot:
Right now I’m working on my second mixtape titled Studio Session, which will be out later this month along with another single called “Gets to Going”. It will be on itunes, Amazon, Rhapsody etc. And my single is out now
titled “I’m So Yes”, make sure you go hear that.

24H:
Now you’ve come up in the game pretty quick. What advice do you give to other artists?

Young Riot:
If this is what you really want to do, GO HARD. I mean don’t half step take it serious and make sure everybody surrounding you do too. Network, network, and network some more, use all the resources you can and the internet is great. Last but not least at all, stay consistent.

24H:
Any shout outs for the people?

Young Riot:
Shout out to 24hourhiphop.com I appreciate it. Dj Illmatic, AraabMuzik, Slip-N-Slide, Sickamore, staff at Hip Hop Weekly, Bum at The Source, and anybody else who helped me on my road. It is all appreciated tremendously.

24H:
