24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Yung Dre: I go by the name of Yung Dre, an aspiring artist based in Fort Myers, FL. home to the well-known rapper Plies.
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Yung Dre: Basically what inspired me to become an artist was just my love and passion for the art itself, it didn’t matter what kind of genre it was or, who was making the music as long as it was GOOD MUSIC i could vibe to it! I’ve always been skilled at flowing on any beat i just never took Rapping serious until My step dad actually brought it out of me. I would always see him making songs, and going to the studio until one day i just decided to drop my first track on my iMac using GarageBand.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where your from?
Yung Dre: My city’s infested with gangsta hardcore rap music, with a city nickname like Lil Pakistan you can only imagine what the scenery has been like.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Yung Dre: What makes me the unique artist that i am is the fact that i can make music for the streets, yet still make a Hit Single for the industry! I am the most versatile artist of 2012, there is no one my age that can compare to me when it comes to making music period. I sing, i make pop, R&B, Rap, etc. music is a part of me.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Yung Dre: I just finished up my EP “I AM YUNG DRE” which features only 7 tracks but, each track is guaranteed a banger! I shoot to kill!
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Yung Dre: I’ve had the opportunity to work with a few talented producers like “The Xclusives”, SkipOnDaBeat,
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Yung Dre: It doesn’t take much to get me excited when it comes to my music, i’ve been more than happy with the feedback I’ve been getting from the fans.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make your self a household name?
Yung Dre: I believe in “hard work” so all i can do is hustle, and grind because i know that nothings given for free.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Yung Dre: I feel like I’m what they are missing.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Yung Dre: Besides music i’m a young entrepreneur selling my own t-shirts locally, working hard in high school, and playing sports. i rarely go out, so when I’m seen anywhere in my city they love me.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Yung Dre: 2012 is my year I see myself becoming more than just a local rapper I’m trying got expand my fan base in any way possible other rappers out here making all this “gangsta music” even though i can relate, that isn’t my style, I’m just trying to make clean music that everybody can enjoy be refraining from using any explicit words in my songs.
