24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Yung WhiteBoi: My name is Caleb, AKA Yung WhiteBoi, I’m 17 about to 18 years old. I live in Anoka, Minnesota. Born and raised. If you’re interested in collaborating, I got my own studio, so just contact me!
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Yung WhiteBoi: I’ve always loved music my whole life! Alright so when i was in 7th grade, I met my homie SpidaFresh and I knew he was a rapper and doing his thing. One day he told me I should start rapping. I thought about it and started writing music. Then one day I asked to borrow his mic. I went home and started making my own music! Now five years later I’m making hits, mixtapes, music videos, and getting my name out there. I would have never started rapping if i never met that kid. The biggest thing that inspires me is seeing all them rappers at the top acting all stupid and rich on those tv shows and videos n stuff like that and I’ve always wanted to be that guy!
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Yung WhiteBoi: It’s not to big in Minnesota. That’s why I’m trying to put on for my state and put Minnesota on the map. I mean there is a lot of good rappers that are pretty big here like Lil Crazed & Liquid Assassin. I’m still trynna get on their level though! I’m meeting new people everyday and getting more connected with people in the music industry.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Yung WhiteBoi: I have a lot of different types of tracks not just the typical club banger/gangter type beat ya know? I like to mix it up and do tracks for all types of occasions like: partys, real stuff, inspirational, cyphers, and even tracks for the females!
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Yung WhiteBoi: I’m currently working on my first album. It should really blow up! I just got done dropping my second mixtape the other day called: “Face The Music” it blew up withing the first 2 hours of it being out! at datpiff.com
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Yung WhiteBoi: I work with a couple local producers in my area, but no one big yet. I usually do my own stuff and it’s working out fine as of right now, cause I got my own studio at home, but I look forward to meeting new producers that know what they are doing and can help me out in the music industry.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Yung WhiteBoi: YES! The likes, comments, and feedback are GREAT! so many people including my friends are messing with my music and sharing it. It makes you feel accomplished and gives you a good feeling because your making music that people love!
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
Yung WhiteBoi: I think when people see music videos they can feel the music a lot more and its way more interesting cause people today have a .5 second attention span so the videos pull in tons of views, it did for me at least!
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Yung WhiteBoi: Honestly, I HATE that mainstream ish! First of all it gets overplayed way too much and nobody wants to hear that radio crap anyways! I mess with all underground music cause it has depth and there is always some type of story behind it all. mainstream is just noise now days.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Yung WhiteBoi: I’m working on music all the time! if I’m not doing that I’m kickin’ it with my girl or chillin with the homies. I need to get a damn job! Yes i said it, I don’t have a job! haha. Hopefully this music will pay off some day!
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Yung WhiteBoi: 2013 is my year I swear! I’ve blown up so much this year! I’m just gonna keep making music and hopefully find a producer and promoters so i can really get my music out there to show all these white boys what up!
