2009 was a great year for Sports, from NFL players going to court and being released from jail to MLB players snitching on each other. NBA underdogs made it to the Finals and favorites fumbled. We got to see amazing plays like Lebron James making half court shots to little ole Rafer Alston blocking Kobe Bryant’s shot. There were also big changes made in each league, Vince Carter was traded to Orlando Magic and the New York Yankees got a new stadium. Much deserving legends were also honored this year: NFL legend John Madden retired and Phil Jackson made history with his 10th NBA Championship. Below are the biggest headlines from 2009.
