Western Conference

With 5 Games already in the books I’ll take you through the Top Teams in the league come both Eastern and Western Conference. Starting out West with the defending “Back To Back” World Champion Lakers who looks to be on a mission for a third straight title with a 5-0 record. All of their stars seem to be in line with Kobe Byrant even after knee surgery(dropping a Triple Double last night against the Kings with 30 points 10 rebus 12 assist 1 steal)and Paul Gasol(Who was named Player Of The Month)off to a great starts. The Lakers bench is looking outstanding not to mention the play of Lamar Odom pouring in a double-double every night so far. The surprise team so far in the West would have to be New Orleans Hornets who has an record of 4-0 under a new coach and the loss of key players but still Chris Paul seem to have got everyone to take their game to another level so far in the season. The Blazers are 4-1 and looks like a serious Playoff contender who just might give the Lakers some trouble along with Oklahoma City even though their 2-2 at the moment. The Mavericks, Spurs and Golden State are all 3-1with the Kings at 3-2. The Rockets are a surprising 0-4 along with the Suns who are 1-3 and the Clippers at 1-4 all have a lot of talent but just has not got it together in the early parts of the 2010-2011 NBA Season.

Eastern Conference

Everyone may have thought after the first 5 games the Miami Heats might have been on top but it’s actually the Hawks who are 5-0 and Miami getting it together after a horrible first game against the Celtics with a 4-1 record and Boston is at 4-1 as well after surprisingly losing to the Cavs right after they beats the Heats in the first game of the 2010-2011 NBA Season opener on TNT. The Bulls and Magics are 2-1 which I’m sure both teams will be among the elite teams once we are mid-way through the season. New Jersey along with the Pacers are at 2-2. The worst team so far in the Eastern Conference are the Pistons with a 0-5 start. Things have made a huge turn for the worst for Detroit ever since the trade for Allen Iverson for Chauncey Billups going to Denver.

Tonight’s NBA games are on TNT starting at 8:00pm with the New Knicks vs Chicago Bulls in Game 1 and Oklahoma City Thunder vs Portland Trailblazers in Game 2 at 10:30pm.
