With 3 NBA Teams on the verge of going home and their season coming to a end last night the Sixers, Spurs and Nuggets all needed just 1 victory to stay alive and push the series to another game. In the case of the SixersDwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Lebron James had something else in mind. All 3 players including great play from Chalmers helped the Heats end the series 97-91 even though the Sixers played strong. With this win the Heats will advance to the second round of the Playoffs face-off against the Boston Celtics in what should be a great series to watch and most likely go all the way to a Game 7. When your down 3-1 in a series like the Spurs was and you were the favorite team to win the actually series you definitely need Playoff experience and that’s just what the Spurs have and played like Veterans last night against the Grizzles. The Spurs took a 110-103 victory at home to push the series to a Game 6 back in Memphis where the Grizzles will be looking to end the series once again. An last but not least the Nuggets took on the Thunder in the last game of the night in a close game that came down to defense and the scoring of Kevin Durant who took over the game with 41 points in KC’s 100-97 win. The Thunder moves on the the second round of the Playoffs and waits either the Spurs or Grizzles. In other news it seems as though the New York Knicks will keep pint Guard Billups for the 2011-2012 season in what seems like a good move even if they seek out a younger All-Star Guard in a Chris Paul, having Billups as a veteran back up makes a lot of sense to me. On schedule for tonight in the NBA will be the Hawks vs Magics with the Hawks trying to end the series and the Magics trying to push for a Game 7 on NBA TV starting at 7:30pm. Then it’s the exciting series between the Lakers and Hornets at 8:00pm on TNT. An after being defeated in Game 5, I’m sure Chris Paul will try to take things into his own hands and tied back up the series and steal the show from Kobe Bryant and his Lakers. But after watching Kobe’s Game 5 performance I have no doubt in my mind that Bryant, Gasol, Lamar Omar and company will take care of business on the road and get get for the next round of the Playoffs against either the Mavericks or Blazers. An speaking of the Mavericks and Blazers at 10:30pm on TNT Dallas will have a chance to close things out up in Portland(The Dallas Mavericks leads the series 3-2).
