Yesterday must have been the day for disappointments because in the world of NBA a lot of people were surprised and upset. The Houston Rockets have once again been able to make it a difficult road for the Lakers to get to the Western Conference Finals. Even with their stars, Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, injured and out for the remainder of the postseason, the Rockets are still pushing to be recognized as a Championship-worthy team. Aaron Brooks scored 26 points and Luis Scola added 24 points with 12 rebounds for Houston. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 32 points and Pau Gasol followed with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Rockets opened the game with a 17-1 run and never looked back, disregarding their previous game, where they lost by 40 points, as if it never happened. The final score was 95-80 and they will go to a Game 7, the final of this series, and will be Sunday at the Staples Center in L.A.

Another surprising game was the Orlando Magic who was able to hold off the Boston Celtics once more to a Game 7. Dwight Howard, the driving force behind the Magics, had 23 points and 22 rebounds. Talk about beastin! Rashad Lewis helped with 20 points and Orlando was able to beat Boston 83-75. Rajon Rondo finished with 19 points, 16 rebounds and six assists, and Paul Pierce scored 17 points for the Celtics. Dwight Howard also recorded his fifth career 20-point, 20-rebound game in the playoff game on Thursday, putting him one ahead of Kevin Garnett and Charles Barkley. The final game of this matchup will this Sunday.
