Jets Quarterback Geno Smith suffered a devasting blow to the face at the hands of his teammate IK Enemkpali. It is rumored that the altercation occurred in the locker room on Tuesday over a $600 dispute. Smith suffered a broken jaw and after receiving a second opinion he will be having surgery to correct the problem. This will have him on the sidelines for at least 6-10 weeks. IK has since been fired from the Jets, as they do not condone this kind of behavior.

Well IK Enemkpali just had a physical today and stated that he’s grateful to get a chance with the Buffalo Bills and apologized for punching New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, adding he should have walked away during the argument.

His troubles aren’t over that quickly though; the NFL is currently reviewing the situation as the linebacker could be subject to penalties. Apparently any incident involving workplace violence off the field falls under the realm of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
