Last night the Lakers took on the Celtics in Boston after an embarrassing loss at home on Jan.30th I’m which the Celtics won 109-96. An at the start PF this head to head match up it would seem as though Boston was in route to beat the Lakers again. With a sold out crowd in Boston looked on and watched Shooting Guard Ray Allen make history after knowing down two 3 pointers in the first quarter and becoming the NBA’s All-Time leader in 3 Pointers with 2,561 which was a record held by the one and only Reggie Miller(2,560)who looked on. By the half the Celtics were leading by 14 points but in the second half it was the Lakers who came out strong and aggressive and started a 10-0 run. As Kobe Bryant took advantage of Ray Allen being in foul trouble and had to sit on the bench. Ray Allen had a team high 20 points but it wasn’t enough to stop Kobe Bryant on this night. Bryant ended up with 23 points and Paul Gasol chipped in with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The rest of the team provided a huge spark off the bench with Lamar Odom key 10 points and Shannon Brown 12 points in the second half not to mention Bynum with a solid 16 points. The Lakers finally pulled out a “Statement Game” as they continue their 3 Game win streak. This Lakers victory place them at 37-16 and are tied with the Mavericks for #2 in the Western Conference. The Lakers will play the New York Knicks tonight at 8pm on ESPN in a Back to Back game.
