Last night was a gut-wrenching game for Florida State fans, and bragging rights for UM fans. After 4 quarters of a nonstop, neck-to-neck game against the seminoles the hurricanes were able to score in the final 2 minutes and hold off the seminoles to win the game 38-34. This game was the 4th victroy in the last 5 meets in Florida’s capital.

The Seminoles scored the first 13 points of the second half, after a 9 yard run by Christian Ponder, he then threw to Taiwan Easterling for a 21 yard score for a 23-14 lead with 4:57 left in the third quarter.

Jacory Harris completed 21 of 34 passes for two touchdowns last night and two interceptions, with one that resulted in a fly ball that Markus White ran back with 11:45 remaining. He ran 31 yards for a 31-24 Florida State lead. After that turnover Harris was hurt after being blitzed by FSU cornerback Greg Reid.

After a rocky 3rd quarter, Harris threw a pass to Cooper for a 24 yard score to tie the game at 31, and then Florida State took the lead again with Dustin Hopkins’ 45-yard field goal with 4:11 left. With 2 minutes and 14 seconds left in the final quarter, Jacory Harris was able to throw a 40 yard pass to Travis Benjamin that brought them closer to victory. Craig Cooper then scored the final touchdown of the game with a 3 yard run that left 1 minute and 53 seconds on the clock. Miami’s defense then put a stop to Florida’s offense after a couple breakthrough runs that led to multiple incompletions from blocked passes by the Canes to win the game.
