It was win or go home yesterday in Game 5 for the defending World Champion Yankees and they did just that with a 7-2 victory over the Texas Rangers. With the Yankees first baseman Teixeria out for the rest of the season and their backs to the wall with the entire season on the line the champs responded. Yankees best pitcher Sabathia on the mount going up against Wilson, did exactly what the Yankees paid so much money to bring him over to New York to do and last night he proved to be worth every dollar. Powered by great defense and hitting from Yankees hitters such as Posada, Cano. Nick Swisher and Granderson had a great game which brought in 3 runs in the second inning and 2 runs in third inning followed up by costly mistakes by the Rangers not to mention no hitting. The Yankees batted in 2 more runs later in the game for a final score of 7-2 where the Rangers just looked out of it all game. Game 6 will be played tomorrow in Texas with Lewis for the Rangers pitching against Hughes for the Yankees with Cliff Lee and Andy Pettitte on deck for a Game 7 match up if necessary. To me this up coming game will place even more pressure on the Yankees then Game 5 “Win Or Go Home” did. The world champions will be facing elimination this Friday at 8:07pm on TBS. So once again let’s see if the Yankees can come back to tie the series up at 3-3.
