Soon after, Tjay speaks on the recording process of his 2017 breakout single, ‘Resume.’ The conversation then continues with Tjay dissecting his debut album ‘True 2 Myself,’ and sharing how he was able to handle the initial fame in his career that almost seemed instant. Afterwards, Lil Tjay reveals the top rappers and singers that influenced the overall sound of his music and later, the EDS squad and Tjay weigh in on Dr. Dre recently expressing that he believes today’s artists are more concerned about ‘quantity over quality’ in regards to releasing music. To close out, Tjay and Wayno teach DJ Akademiks about what it’s like to be a New York native and how to survive as an artist in the city, discuss why NY has the ‘toughest crowd’ and Tjay’s current tour.
