On Tuesday’s (Feb. 4) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks are joined by Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. The CMG head honcho talks about his new album ‘Untrapped,’ owning his masters, being active in prison reform and his successful business ventures. First, Yo Gotti explains the meaning behind the title of his latest LP and speaks on his upbringing in Memphis. Then, the 38-year-old rapper reveals how he discovered and helped develop the careers of CMG artists like Black Youngsta , Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg and more. Soon after, Gotti drops some business gems on how he was able to purchase his masters and elaborated on the lengthy process it took for him to receive his publishing rights. Later in the show, Gotti talks about the start of his annual Birthday Bash, getting banned from venues in Memphis and his leg setting on fire during last year’s performance. Next, Gotti speaks on the greatest advice he’s gotten from Jay-Z, talks prison reform and opens up about the Mississippi inmates that are being mistreated in prison.
