On sites like Leakth.is and the gaming message board Discord, people come together to raise money to purchase leaked tracks in the form of group buys. Genius granted anonymity to a hacker in order to allow them to speak freely on the process as well as Stephen Witt, author of How Music Got Free and Asof Cidon for a history of music leaks and information on how to protect yourself from hackers.
