When the very first song released by a musical artist becomes a 5x Platinum super nova, it is way too easy for anything beneath that to look like a sputtering crash-and-burn flop. More specifically, this is the gift and the curse that has struck the career of the riled up Brooklyn rapper Desiigner when he unleashed his massive anthem “Panda” on December 15th 2015, and was signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. From a beat that Desiigner came across on YouTube produced by the rising producer Menace from the Rochdale section of Manchester England, “Panda” in Desiigner’s own words means:

“The panda is the black X6 and the white X6. The black X6 look like a Phantom, the white X6 look like a panda. I’m just putting it in a greater way of how I say and the way I live.”

But ever since “Panda” hibernated and went cold, there has only been two other hot 1x Platinum singles for the rapper, “Champions” which is actually a G.O.O.D. music collaborative track with Kanye West, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Quavo, and Yo Gotti. And “Timmy Turner,” and both are from back in 2016. With many songs since but very little major impact made, the simple question that needs an answer for all of his fans out in the world is, what exactly happened to the rapper Desiigner?
