The O’Jays weren’t particularly impressed with Trump when they met him. But their hit song, “For The Love of Money” would be the soundtrack for Trump’s transformation into a primetime TV star, which ultimately provided more name recognition as he entered the race for the Presidency in 2016. Years later, the O’Jays wrote a song criticizing Trump – and for that, they’ve gotten criticism from some of their fans.
