China Mac continued to speak on Black and Asian relations by addressing the topic of Asian businesses operating in impoverished Black neighborhoods. He pointed out that it’s usually Asian immigrants opening up businesses in Black neighborhoods and not American-born Asians. China Mac said Asian immigrants often open businesses in Black neighborhoods because it’s cheaper, there’s a need or demand for the service, and there’s less competition.

However, China Mac acknowledged that the tension stems from the language barrier, Asians’ preconceived notions of Blacks due to the media, and the fact that the business owners do not live in the neighborhoods that they profit from. China Mac stated that he wants to be a bridge between both communities while changing the narrative and negative stereotypes regarding the Asian community.
