In this clip, Craig Hodges discussed the racism he experienced growing up in Chicago during the 1960s. Hodges said that his community in Chicago Heights was rather insular which kept them from directly facing prejudicial treatment but did say there were times that older white kids would chase them out of their side of town if caught after dark.
Later, Craig Hodges talked about growing up in a household that groomed him as a student-athlete and how he knew he was good enough to go pro at the age of 17.
