In this clip, Craig Hodges starts out by speaking about telling Michael Jordan that he needed to start his own sneaker brand that would benefit the Black community more than Nike. Craig then revealed that Jordan told him, “Who’s going to remember me in 10 years,” leading Craig to point out that Jordan didn’t know his status as an icon was coming. Craig went on to compare Jordan and Muhammad Ali, and stating that there’s a difference in humanity between the two.

While speaking about Jordan’s marketability, which Craig pointed out is rare in the sports world, he recalled a conversation where Jordan told him that Clyde Drexler had equal talent on the court, but he didn’t know how to play “the game.” To hear more, including Craig speak about the positivity that has come from Jordan’s critics uniting, hit the above clip.
