In this clip, Doctor Dre talked with Shawn Prez about the inception of Yo MTV Raps! and detailed how he landed the gig. He revealed that Ed Lover and himself met for the first time during auditions but instantaneously forged an on-camera chemistry which made the show a mainstay for the hip-hop community. Doctor Dre also spoke about the unprecedented reach Yo MTV Raps! had as the first nationally televised show devoted to hip-hop music videos.
