Doug Williams continued to reflect on being heckled by Jamie Foxx during his set for Emmitt Smith’s roast. Jamie Foxx said in previous interviews that he targeted Williams because he heard he was talking trash about him. Williams rejected Foxx’s claim by noting how uncomfortable he was sharing the stage with so many famous comedians.

Williams recalled confronting Foxx backstage after the incident and Foxx explaining that it was just regular rookie hazing. Williams also acknowledged that it would have looked bad for him as a comedian if he escalated the moment into a physical altercation. Because of how hurtful the moment was to him, the comedian explained that he avoided addressing the situation for years until recently.
