In this clip, Doug Williams touched on the now-infamous Emmitt Smith roast, which he said happened near the start of his stand-up career. Doug explained that he had new management at the time, and although Doug wasn’t into the idea of the roast, he went at the encouragement of his manager. Doug went on to speak about Jamie Foxx having the audience eating out the palm of his hand after doing a 30-minute warm-up, and he pointed out that Jamie was an established entertainer at the time. Foreshadowing the viral moment to come, Doug states that he wishes he got residuals off of the footage.
