In this clip, John Salley recalls Charles Oakley punching him in the stomach at the Kentucky Derby while they were hanging out with Dave Chappelle and Michael Jordan. He explained that Chappelle and Chris Tucker stopped him and asked him who they would choose between Kobe and Jordan. When John told Jordan that Kobe would “give you the money,” Oakley knocked the wind out of John. John went on to explain that he watched Kobe imitate everything about Jordan, and he shared that Kobe beat Jordan in a 1-on-1 game. When John asked Kobe why he went straight to the NBA from high school, Kobe told him that he heard Jordan was retiring and he didn’t want to miss playing against him.
