In this clip, Kal Dawson talked to Shawn Prez about mentoring young artists about how to navigate the music industry. He said he relies on his experience in the game and the vast network he’s managed to create but also the knowledge he picked up throughout his time in the streets and prison.

Kal later spoke about why he’d never consider working with Tekashi 6ix9ine. He pointed out how his moral code wouldn’t allow him to work with someone like that and said he lumps him in with pedophiles and rapists. Kal also opined on why hip-hop seems to be more lax on issues like snitching today.
