In this clip, Mark Henry briefly discussed his experiences dealing with racism and how the racist encounters dwindled as he became more prominent. For the biases and stereotypes that remain, especially for people of color with a modicum of success, Mark refers to that as “greatness hate.”
Later, Mark Henry talked about qualifying for the Olympics and learning an entirely new sport to compete in the ’92 games. Despite not getting a medal, Mark placed 10th in Olympic weightlifting which he’d only been doing for 11 months.
