In the latest clip, Michael Jai White spoke further about Mike Tyson by discussing how the media’s portrayal of the former boxing champion changed over time. White stated Tyson was initially portrayed as a kid who was from the wrong side of the tracks and was “rehabilitated by these kindly White folks.” According to White, Tyson’s negative traits were always present but the media chose not to reveal the other side of him because they had an agenda.

Because Tyson was painted as innocent, he was shielded from scrutiny even when Robin Givens accused him of abuse. White stated that Givens’ disclosure of the abuse would have been more welcomed today now that the public has a full understanding of Tyson. White pointed out that the media started exposing Tyson’s negative characteristics once he joined Don King and went to prison for rape.
