24: What is your name?
Antonia: Antonia Janet.

24: Where are you from?
Antonia: I’m originally from New York, but
when I was 16 I moved to Costa Rica, then I came to Miami when I was 18 for
college. I still try to visit NY and Costa Rica at least 2 times a year.

24: How old are you?
Antonia: 23

24: Now for those of us who don’t
know you, where have you made appearances?

Antonia: I don’t know if I have been in anything
that people would remember me for. I try and stay away from doing music videos,
which is a great way to attract attention, but it’s just not for me. I have
a Fashion Merchandising Degree so I love to work with up and coming designers.
I like to be involved from the beginning, contributing to the development of
a new clothing line.

24: How long have you been modeling?
Antonia: 5 Years

24: Has your modeling career been consistent?
Antonia: I stopped modeling for about 2 years
then decided to pick it up again. I just love the fashion industry. It seems
I couldn’t stay away. But I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work at
this time.

24: What inspired you to get in to modeling?
Antonia: I have always been interested in modeling,
since before models had curves. I think I was more interested from the fashion
aspect. I love to model clothing that most people would think is outrageous,
it might look funny in person, but it looks great in a photo or on the runway.

24: What is different about you that sets
you apart from other models?

Antonia: The truth is that I might not be different
from other models. I don’t know them all. I think having a degree in Fashion
Merchandising makes me appreciate all aspects of fashion and the modeling industry.
I understand different elements of style, layout, photography, and makeup application,
which makes me easy to work with.

24: What do you enjoy the most about modeling?
Antonia: Getting dressed up in crazy looking
clothing and accessories and also, contributing to a photo that makes a person
want to wear these items.

24: We know you work with up and coming
designers can you name a few you have worked for?

Antonia: Charlie B (Beautiful Clothing) is
one of the first designers I ever worked for. Fashion by Lekani (Amazing Swimsuits)
is the gold and white one that I’m wearing in the photo is one of hers. Strictly
Bump One is mostly men’s clothing, but they do have some cute jackets and tank
tops for women.

24: Are their any other project that you’re
working on?

Antonia: Right now I’m just working on updating
my portfolio, so I’m working with a lot of different photographers. Two of my
favorites are Joseph Evans Photography and James P. Photography. Besides working
on my Portfolio, Lekani has a runway show coming up for her swimsuit collection
that I’m really looking forward to participating in.

24: Is there anything you would advise
to young girls who want to be in this business?

Antonia: Stay focused and make sure you mold
the right image for yourself from the beginning of your career. Your initial
image depends not only on yourself, but also on the photographers you work with.
There are going to be a lot of people that are going to want to take advantage
of you because you are beautiful and new. Remember that if you degrade yourself,
you make it harder for the next up and coming model to make it "the right
way."

24: Is their anything else you would like
to promote?

Antonia: I don’t have a website yet, but you
can find me on myspace. www.myspace.com/antoniajanet
