Miami, FL – This past Sunday (May 24), one Miami’s biggest annual events took place at the Bicentennial Park in Downtown Miami. Talk about a huge cultural event with all the trimmings put into place. What was a rainy affair for most of the early hours of the afternoon turned into a nice festive evening. The scheduled performers featured some of Jamaica’s hottest artists from Capleton to Movado to Beenie Man, Spice, Serani, KipRich, Shifta, and Camar, the line up itself was quite interesting. The crowd was into it from the beginning to the end. The Best of the Best concert has been an annual event for quite some time now and has always delivered great music, food, and fun for the whole family. The event began in the early hours as known Jamaican artists hit the stage performing their hit songs for a crowd of excited and eager fans. As the concert commenced, the smell of the Jamaican food definitely hit the air strong.

Besides all the Reggae performers, quite possibly the biggest Hip-Hop artists of today hit the stage alongside their fellow Jamaican artists, in attendance was Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, T-Pain, Ace Hood, Flo Rida, and Brisco. The collection of artists provided the crowd with an immense performance. DJ Khaled hosted most of the set. Ace Hood began his set with T-Pain by his side as a collection of songs from Ace, Khaled, and Ross’ albums were performed set by set. It was interesting to know that T-Pain is in several songs with Ross, Ace, and Khaled simultaneously on different albums. In attendance alongside Ross was his whole label from Maybach including Gunplay and Young Breed of Triple C, the only artist that was missing from the whole set was Torch.

As soon as Young Jeezy hit the stage, the crowd went absolutely crazy. The ATL native performed several of his hit records dating way back to ‘Thug Motivation 101.’ You could tell his fans were on deck as every single record was mimicked throughout the huge crowd. Rick Ross ended the show by bringing on a surprise guest to the stage, none other than the Bad Boy himself, Diddy. You thought the applause for Ross and Jeezy was loud, as soon as Diddy hit the stage, the crowd roared for the Bad Boy mogul.

All in all, the concert was a great experience. We’ve learned more about Reggae and its cultural arts than we knew before. We look forward to Best of the Best 2010. Special thanks to the entire staff at Rhona Fox, Inc. They provided 24hourhiphop.com and the other media outlets at the show with exceptional media coverage and catering.
