“Making it in the game,” is something a lot of people dream of. Some wanna be rappers, others executives; either way this is no easy task. It requires hard work and perseverance, however cliché that may sound. My own personal journey to find a place in the business of hip-hop has taken many twists and turns.
Recently my road took a sharp turn down I-85 to Atlanta, GA. The A is home to some of the flyest shorties in the south and current home of the hits! Just look at the charts and you’ll see some common reoccurring names. Constant A-Town hit makers like Young Jeezy, Yung L.A., T.I., and Gucci Mane all have something in common. They’ve all worked with resident ATL record breakers The Aphilliates.
So when I found myself having the opportunity intern with The Aphilliates, it was something I was very excited to explore. This summer turned into much more than I was expecting. I did normal intern stuff like cleaning bathrooms and makin’ lunch runs. I didn’t have to walk to get any cheesecake I’m not at Bad Boy (that’s sarcasm, I don’t need any e-mails). However the work was definitely worth the reward.
I found myself in a position most interns would kill for and for this I am very extremely appreciative. AMG president, LA tha Darkman sent me out on the road with world famous DJ DRAMA. Over the course of 4 weeks I got to visit 5 cities with Mr. Thanksgiving, Barak ODRAMA! I got to experience life on the road with one of the biggest names in hip-hop right now. So now along with 24hourhiphop.com, I TerraD.R.U bring you behind the scenes of my summer road trip. Walk with me as I live the road life with DJ DRAMA and The Aphilliates. 1st stop Baltimore. We check in with Squirrel Wyde and Porkchop at B-More’s Q92, check into the Marriot Waterfront, and check out the local scene with Baltimore’s own 100 Grand Man. Gangsta Grillz!
