Showing the world that he is definitely not a little boy anymore Pleasure P, formerly of Pretty Ricky, is introducing the world to Marcus Cooper with his upcoming debut album entitled “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper.”

Everyone needs a fresh start, and Pleasure P is no exception to the rule.  When asked what the motivation was behind the title of the album, P had this to say:

“The reason I named it that is because Pretty Ricky introduced you all to Pleasure P, but now Pleasure P is going to introduce you to Marcus Cooper, which is my government name,” says the 23-year-old, who left his post as lead singer of the group last year. “This time, I’m in my own lane musically — I’m grown up now. I’m talking about things that average R&B guys don’t talk about but that average people can relate to. Pretty Ricky was overly raunchy, young and with no direction. Now, my music is classier and I’ll tell you exactly how it is.”

Recently, Mr. Cooper has been seen in the studio hard at work on the new album which is set for release on June 2, 2009. This album is set to include big time producers such as Dre and Vidal, Cool and Dre, Tank and Jim Jonsin, the late Static Major, Rico Love and even Keith Sweat.  This is most definitely a good look for the 23-year-old singer. Other tracks on this album include “Rock Bottom,” “Patience,” “Shorty My Girl,” and “Boyfriend No.2,” which was digitally released on Myspace along with his hit solo debut “Did You Wrong.” This single quickly charted on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2008 receiving unprecedented success on both the Airplay and R&B Charts.

According to a recent interview with Pleasure P and our very own 24HHH, P feels this album will definitely be in heavy rotation.

“Just expect to put it in and press #1 and not skip any songs. I don’t have any album fillers on this album, I’ve been working on it for a year and a half. My team and I put a big effort into seeing that we touched different subjects and topics. This is a very soulful album. I have a melodic voice at the same time. It’s going to be a Richening sound. It’s a great album all around and I’m telling you Y’all are gonna love it!”

Mr. Cooper seems to be having no doubt in his mind that this will be an album to remember. Confident in his ability as well as an album that he undoubtedly has faith in, the R&B singer had this to say:

“I’m a say this, Did you wrong was a big record and Boyfriend # 2 Is going to be bigger then anyone of my records when I was in a group. Mark my words! My record after Boyfriend #2 is going to be bigger then Boyfriend #2. We’re just going to keep coming with hits. My music is going to speak for it self. Slowly but more surely the doubters will be fans. They’ll give respect as they keep listening. Right now I dont mind being the under dog. I got a fan base too, I do it for them.”

Well from the pictures I’d say that Pleasure P, excuse me, Mr. Cooper is hard at work and ready to take the world by storm.  Let’s hope he can make all the skeptics, believers. Keep doing what you do Mr. Cooper! Go pick up that album on June 2nd and check out your boy!
