Fort Lauderdale, FL – After his stirring success at Club Premier on Valentine’s Night, Plies wanted to do something special for an encore performance. After sitting down with local promoters Nassau Boyz and Landeater Entertainment less than two months ago, the idea was set; Plies was determined to come back to South Florida on Easter Sunday and stage a concert along with a car show.
As Easter Sunday approached the buzz began to build as artists like Brisco, Ace Hood, Qwote, and others were set to grace the stage along with ‘The Realist’. Broward County has a way of uniting when the cause is right and an appearance from Plies seem to be just the trick to get people going.
The event itself didn’t disappoint in terms of variety and entertainment as nearly 100 cars were entered in an exclusive Car Show that served to give the event much color and style as well as a change of pace from those not looking to focus solely on the performances of the artists.
On the stage the energy also seemed to be on point as Poe Boy artist Brisco rocked the crowd around 8 PM. Word on Brisco was very high among the concert goers and everyone seems to be waiting for his upcoming album ‘Street Medicine’ to hit the shelves.
C.O.A. Babii also made his presence know and performed his hit single ‘WIGN’ to an appreciative audience. Performances by Young D-Low, and Slip N’ Slide artists Shonie and Qwote followed and the crowd seemed to be feeling every song. For as much as the evening’s early performers connected with the crowd, there was no denying that the majority of the people in the Park were there to see Plies in his element.
At roughly 9:45 PM Plies came to the stage and the crowd, consisting mainly of females, went wild. A Florida native, Plies has always embraced his fans down South and on this night it was more of the same as he went about his business. All of the songs got the crowd buzzing, with notable hits ‘Shawty’, ‘Want It, Need It’, and ‘Plenty Money’ standing out as favorites.
During the night Plies repeatedly stated ‘Broward County, the Pleasure is all mine’, as it was obvious how special it is for him to perform in the area. Another touching moment was when Plies called Nassau Boyz co-founder Teddy ‘Bear’ to the stage and the two embraced. Teddy had stuck with Plies for years before the artist got big and the appreciation and respect between the two shined through.
All in all, another good night for Broward County, as Plies delivered great energy and got the crowd involved all night. Many more performances can be expected from him in the future…
