New York, NY – By now, news of Mister Cee controversial arrest has been headlined all across media outlets, whether Hip-Hop or not, the news is spreading like wildfire. Sometime over the course of the past weekend, Hot 97’s DJ Mister Cee was arrested for public lewdness and indecent exposure.
According to police reports, Cee, whose real name is Calvin Lebrun, was caught in the middle of sex act with a 20 year old transsexual in his car in Manhattan. After news hit the net, Mister Cee’s once respected credibility was thrown out the window and exchanged with homophobic slurs from literally everyone. Everyone went in on Cee, except fellow Hot 97 DJ and friend Funkmaster Flex and G-Unit general 50 Cent. Flex defended his fellow DJ and co-worker until the bitter end, regardless of police reports and hearsay, Flex continues to hold his and his friend’s ground.
50 Cent, on the other hand, commented about Mister Cee, adding his own defense for the DJ’s behalf on a recent interview with Hot 97’s Miss Info.
These were his comments:
“It’s only entertaining because he means that much to hip-hop culture, I recognize Mister Cee as the guy who offered us Biggie, so he means that much to the culture. And a lot of the kids that hear the radio don’t see him the same way.”
50 puts forth a lot respect for Mister Cee because of his credible longevity in Hip-Hop, from bringing Biggie into the game and pioneering Hip-Hop into today. He even played the full-length of all his albums for Cee before their initial release just to get the veteran DJ’s opinion. 50 adds some advice for Cee, stating that this arrest shouldn’t cause him to stop what he’s doing or what he does best, turning songs into hits.
“Who is to judge you when there’s an audience — that is probably one of the strongest audiences, if you look at Lady Gaga’s career — that says that that’s fine? If you say it’s not fine, you’re gonna get attacked. You’re gonna write apology notes.”
