50 Cent Draws Close to the Release of ‘Before I Self Destruct’

New York, NY – In the past several weeks alone, 50 Cent has been able to conquer the underground, even as a huge commercial success. His studio LP, ‘Before I Self Destruct’ has already been completed and awaits release, it just seems as though 50 couldn’t wait for that. Within weeks of each other, 50 managed to drop to two mixtapes that has gained mass attention and possibly plans to drop more. ‘War Angel LP’ and ‘Forever King’ are both available for free download on his ThisIs50.com.

The G-Unit General recently spoke with MTV News about his upcoming anticipated studio LP and discusses the politics of music and his patient tolerance for the business and its structure.

These were his comments:

“I don’t have the ability to do that,” Fif answered about why he put the tapes out at a fever pace. “You have to set up records now, position them at radio. I get frustrated with that shit. Sometimes I just want people to hear what I just did. I be like, ‘This shit is hot, I want it out now. So I’mma just start giving it away.’

My album — it’s perfect, I feel I’m ready. I’m ready to put this album out. I really don’t need adjustments. I need a few songs to be finished, mixed. Dre, he drags his feet. He’s slow, but it’s because he’s so creative. He’s gonna make sure it’s perfect. I’m never mad at it. I understand that process from him. But for me, I kinda go on my gut. Ain’t nobody pick 50 Cent records. ‘Wanksta’ went on its own. They caught up to my records. The only record they launched was ‘In da Club.’ When we was all on deck and they launched it. Even going back to the last record — ‘I Get Money’ was going at a great pace, then ‘Ayo Technology’ fell on top of it. I had all of the records that sold the Curtis record lying there the whole time. I was just like, ‘I can’t put this out until after I’ve done this.’ My core, if they can’t expect aggressive content or that content that feels like what’s going on for them at the moment from me, then who can they get it from?”

As of now, ‘Before I Self Destruct’ has been slated for a September 29, but knowing 50 and Interscope that could change at any given moment. It is the last Tuesday in September.

Tony Yayo Speaks on Behalf of G-Unit

New York, NY – Sometime last month, former G-Unit member The Game expressed his apologies to the General 50 Cent over the feud that occurred years ago that caused the turmoil between him and the labels. The Game made a great point that at the time when he stated that G-Unit reigned supreme and was able conquer the music industry in less than a few months until words got exchanged and both sides felt disrespected. 50 Cent heard and read about the apology extended by The Game as it was all over the media, however, 50 chose not to respond or entertain the matter. It seemed as though the apology fell on deaf ears. According to Tony Yayo, he states that once you step on 50’s toes and go to war with him, there are no peace treaties to be arraigned or apologies to be accepted, once you leave the army, it is desertion. Either way, both Yayo and Banks aren’t buying the apology and believe it’s just a ploy.

Yayo recently spoke with MTV News concerning Game’s apology and expressed his thoughts on the whole situation.

These were his comments:

“Now he’s thinking about his mistakes. He said in that interview he might feel a different way the next day. Game is bipolar. One day he’s this way, the next day he’s the next. When you got a group like G-Unit, we sold millions of records; we got a lot of egos. From Buck and Game, I think they just gotta learn how to control them egos. In their eyes, to me, they got jealous of 50. They’ll say, ‘Yayo is up under 50’s ass.’ Or ‘He’s 50’s yes-man.’ It’s not that — I don’t have any hate in my heart towards anybody. I don’t have hate in my heart towards Game or Buck. But when we built a brand, G-Unit was selling millions of records like he said — yeah, we was the Beatles.

Let me tell you like this, let me keep it real. You’re either gonna be down with 50 and be below him a little bit, but you’re still travelling the world. I just came back from Ireland, Switzerland and Turkey. So I don’t care what nobody says, or you could go against him and get more publicity. Buck and Game, when they went against 50, they got way more publicity. Way more people wanna interview them and know what the beef’s with 50. So they gain more interest than me.

If I was to flip on 50 today, it would get me more media than me being down with him, but I’m not a snake. So Game started the ‘G-Unot’ thing, tried to hurt the brand. C’mon, people respect the movement. They respect when they see guys from the ‘hood who came from the ‘hood — started out with nothing, now got something, not knock each other when we get to the point where we all got money, houses, cars, kids, bills.”
