Apparently rappers just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. According to local TV reports, Outkast co-founder Andre 3000 was recently arrested on March 28th, 2009 for speeding right outside of Atlanta. He was reportedly driving his 2007 Porche Carrera at a whopping 109 miles per hour, which was 44 mph over the 65 mph speed limit. So the question is why was he speeding? Early reports say the rapper was on his way to a celebration. Sources say that he says he was “late for a birthday party.”
“Traveling that fast along 75, you’re passing people as if they’re standing still,” explained Henry County Police Captain Jason Bolton. “It’s an accident waiting to happen.” The arresting officer added.
This is just crazy, not only could he have hurt himself, he could’ve hurt someone else. I’m pretty sure that the birthday party wasn’t going to be over that soon. Driving 109 miles per hour on I-75; he has to be out of his mind.
TMZ states that “We’re told Andre was taken to the Henry County Jail where he took a mugshot, posted $1,200 bail and was eventually released.”
Andre is set to appear in court on April 29, 2009 where he will face charges with this speeding incident. I’m just glad no one got hurt in the process and let’s all thank God it wasn’t just another drug or gun possession charge.
Suge Knight Responds To Robbery Accusations
TMZ recently reported that on an interview at a gas station, Suge Knight and his entourage responded to the allegations that he was the mastermind behind last week’s robbery incident with Detail, Akon’s producer.
Suge Knight had this to say: “Whoa, whoa whoa,” Suge said in an on-street interview. “Akon and them telling like that? I don’t know nothing about that. Eh I don’t know anything about that…I got a new show coming on, it’s about violence. Aight homie.” “Eh tell Akon we don’t know nothing about that, this is California,” one of Suge’s entourage members said. “Stop snitching. We don’t know anything about that…we out here in the West.”
What’s awkward about this comment is that if Suge had nothing to do with the incident, then why would a person from his camp even mention snitching? If Suge wasn’t the mastermind, then there is nothing to snitch about right? In actuality, Akon never blamed Suge directly claiming in his MTV report, that he had no knowledge of Suge’s involvement in the situation.
Sounds to me like just a bunch of gossip that no one has gotten to the bottom of. What ever happened to calling and asking questions instead of assuming? Detail’s employee, Christopher Walker, still insists that Suge is the person behind the incident but there has been no word on what Detail had to say on the situation. A lot is still unclear about this situation but I’m sure that everything will come to light in a matter of time. Stay tuned for the drama.
