Two people were shot early Thursday morning (April 13) outside of the C-Note Lounge, located at Van Dyke Avenue and Hollywood Street, at about 1:30 a.m. The lounge was hosting a hip-hop album release party. One of the two victims was killed, while the other was rushed to St. John Hospital.

Early reports had suggested that local rapper John Drama was the deceased victim, but his manager confirmed that it was Drama’s friend. The names of the victims have not been released but authorities believe that a disagreement over a woman transpired prior to the shooting. No arrests have been made have been made as of yet.

According to a source close to SOHH.com, the Detroit Police’s rap intelligence unit is investigating to see if there is a connection between this recent shootout and the shooting that killed Proof.
