Watch The Throne, the soon-to-be-released collaborative album between hip hop juggernauts Jay-Z and Kanye West, has been the source of much chatter and hype the last few months, with anticipation building recently after the release of “Otis,” the Otis Redding sampled track from the project. The two artists, collectively known as The Throne, are slated to embark on a multi-city tour to support the release, but reports are circulating that there is some trouble in rap paradise between the two heavyweights.

NY Post’s Page Six claims that sources close to the duo report disagreements regarding the size and scale of the proposed shows, with Kanye West desiring a grander spectacle than his Roc Nation counterpart. Jay-Z, said to be more cost-conscious, is allegedly less inclined to spend what could be up to $400,000 per show, according to insider estimates.

The rift is rumored to be affecting their work relationship, as both icons appeared separately during a performance by Young Jeezy, rather than an expected duet.

Page Six quotes a source as saying, “Jay-Z is fed up with West’s antics. He doesn’t even want to be around him.” This all leading up to a scheduled listening event for Watch The Throne tonight in New York City.

No official response from Live Nation, who is running the tour, or from representatives of either artist. It remains to be seen whether this is just rumor, or if the alleged sniping is going to affect things.
