New York, NY – Speak as you may about Kanye West, but many rappers look up to him, including up and comer Big Sean. The Detroit emcee has been around West for quite some time now, as a matter of fact, since the recording days of 2007’s Graduation Day. Big Sean made last year’s XXL Freshmen Class of 2010, and since then, he’s been all over grinding. Sean just recently guest featured on the remix to his mentor’s hit, ‘All of the Lights.’

Big Sean recently spoke with MTV News on their show RapFix Live hosted by Sway. During the interview is when he spoke real highly of the Chi-town emcee.

These were his comments:

“Being around a legend like that is nerve-racking. It seemed like everything I brought him he would always be like, ‘Man come on, you need to do better, you need to do this,’ like when I first signed to him. I was always nervous, like, ‘Dang, he’s going to drop me, he think I’m wack.’ But I worked hard and now when I bring him music he’s like, ‘You going to be the greatest man. Yes, I knew you had it in you.’ He’s definitely the most intimidating person I’ve ever been in the studio with.”

Sean signed with the G.O.O.D. music imprint some time in 2007, and since then he has been featured in countless G.O.O.D. collaborations. Even though he wasn’t featured on the actual album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,’ he was present during the recording sessions in Hawaii.

“The atmosphere there was crazy; one of the funniest stories of all time was when Kanye was making a beat in front of everybody in the room. And he was making a beat, making a beat, and everybody was just tuned in, like, ‘Dang, Kanye making a beat,’ and he was like, ‘I know what you’re thinking, Yes, Kanye West is making a beat right now.’ He kids around a lot. People think he has like a stuck-up attitude or is an a-hole or whatever, but he’s really one of the most nicest people out the hood, I always say, ‘What kind of asshole would get me out the hood and ride my mom around in his Maybach?’”

After releases several mixtapes under the ‘Finally Famous’ series, his debut album with the same name has been scheduled to be released under G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam Recordings some time during the Spring of this year. His first single off of the debut a song entitled ‘My Last’ featuring the vocal talents of Chris Brown.
